Dynamometers, Test Heads & Instruments — Motorized Dynamometer Test Head Model 6610 DS Series
Motorized Dynaeter Test Head
Model 6610 DS Seriesmom
These test heads combine in spindle form an optical torque transducer, an optical encoder, a low inertia clutch and a synchronous drive motor.
They are available with full scale torque capacities from 1-Oz-In to 320-In-lbs.
Speed can be measured with an accuracy of I RPM and position can be measured with an accuracy of .1 degrees.
Outline Dimensions
Note: Length may vary with test head size. Consult factory for exact dimensions.
Test Head Description
The 6610 series of test heads combine in spindle form a Vibrac Optical Torque Transducer, an Optical Encoder, a Magnetic Clutch and a variable speed drive motor that is connected to the clutch through a worm drive system.
This combination of components enables these test heads to be used in both a loading mode and a driving mode.
In the loading mode, the worm drive system prevents the clutch from being back-driven and therefore it performs as a load brake.
In the driving mode, the clutch provides overload protection for the torque transducer.
General Information and Specifications
The 6610DS-SD series of test heads were designed specifically for use with Vibrac's PC 3000 series instrumentation. This combination of test heads and instrumentation can produce turn-key systems for testing stepper motors, DC motors, brushless DC motors, actuators and other similar type components.
